Be consistent!

Lesson from dad.

Even though my dad was a rather quiet man, when he spoke he was an exceptional story teller. He used to blend ideas with half-truths and a bit of small twists or pepper them with such colorful details. His tales ranged from the sometimes unbelievable (those were obvious) to the sometimes so mundane that you wouldn't suspect it was partially made up. These stories were all in good fun though.

Thinking back on this, it seemed that I had picked up this particular life lesson from him. It was the skill of consistency. I deem this to be a rather powerful skill which can be used to sell anything to anyone.

If you tell someone something and you sound like an authority (because very few people have exact knowledge about every thing), if you are charming, and if you are consistent, you can get people to believe anything! People have a sense of wonder and no one wants to believe they are being lied to. Appeal to that, and you can sell anything.
