I voice my opposition against these mechanical contraptions of death
This has gone on for far too long. The PMDs need to off the roads, and thankfully the government is banning these devices from public pavements and roads. There have been far too many incidents which resulted in the injury or death of riders and pedestrians alike. There has to be better management of such devices, especially when they end up in the wrong hands of selfish or ignorant individuals who speed.
Another point I disagree with these PMDs is the potential lifestyle hazards they can lead. While there are valid reasons for certain individuals to use PMDs, the bulk of PMD users I can see are clearly healthy individuals. Some of whom can certainly do with more exercise. The over-reliance on such devices can lead to one having a sedentary lifestyle, and worse if it enables people to use the minimal of energy to buy more junk food.
Anyway, glad the ban will be enforced by the end of this month. So long, PMD scourge!
