"Professional" animal cruelty

mssywung

In which handlers hurt the thing which they are meant to protect.

So I saw this video where a bunch of pest control trainees were being taught to handle snakes. The video alleged that many technicians were queuing up to catch the same snake, and the trainees had kept throwing the snake around while laughing and taunting it. After all these treatment, the snake was too weak to even defend itself.

What is this now? Some sort of macho circus where one man tries to show that he is braver than the other? I understand that these people deal with pests, but please know that you are handlers and not tormentors. Some "pests" are actually wildlife that need more compassionate handling and they are not merely your everyday cockroach or fleas.

I simply do not find such behavior acceptable. I really wonder who are the animals? Also who are more cold-blooded - the snake or the trainees.
