In which we stare fear in the eyes
Today SIA stock (SGX: C6L) fell drastically. This was in response to travel restrictions imposed by the Singapore Government over the weekend in a bid to slow the Covid-19 outbreak. Based on estimations, Singapore Airlines slumped 6.34 per cent to end the day at S$6.74, a more than 15-year low. SIA last traded at this level in October 2004.
Conversely, the Straits Times Index ETF lost 5.25%, ending the day at 2,495.7 points.
Is this time for fear or panic? End of the world? NO. Remember this quote by Warren Buffett - be greedy when the market is fearful. Time to load up on your investments. Everything is generally at a discount. Of course, remember to do your homework before buying anything.
