Why do some people still use this lame line?
Hahaha. This morning I woke up to a rather funny advertisement. Honestly it did not state much details apart from stating seek success and becoming your own boss by joining DIXMONDSG. I did a bit of online research and found a hair saloon which happens to go by the same name www.dixmondsg.com. It seems to be rather successful given that they have 8 shops around Singapore.
The part which tickled me was how it disclaimed "This is not a mlm scheme, if you are looking for a mlm scheme please look else where". While I am not accusing this establishment of being a MLM company, this line has long been overused by salespersons. Do you remember the times when someone said to you, "Hi Sir/Madam, can I have a minute of your time? I am not trying to sell you anything...". Oh please, am I expecting a free handout? But of course, nowadays they do give freebies only after the prospect has sat down to listen to a 15-min sales pitch.
Going back to the DIXMONDSG advertisement, I would advise future companies from using this cliche line AND also avoid using high-powered cars and fancy houses as part of their marketing. It honestly reeks of MLM. I believe the advertisement had since received some "honest" feedback and has been taken down.
