We did great overall
So about a day ago, there was a release showing the World Index rankings for Singapore. The way I see it, we did great overall with a couple in the top 10s - roads quality, healthy life expectancy, reliability of police services, property rights, and quality of vocational training. The innovation capability being ranked 14th surprised me as I thought we were not really that creative as a society? Press freedom is at 124th position lol.
Anyway, I am overall glad that our life expectancy is tops. Bringing this back to my first true love (insurance), it is important for me to remind people to get themselves protected against ailments of old age. We might be able to live longer but it does not mean that we get the same level of resilience against falls and accidents with a weaker body.
So remember to speak to your friendly agent (disclaim: please do not look for me as I did not start this blog with an intention to sell any products here) about safeguarding yourself against temporary or permanent disabilities. There are insurance products out there which cater to clients who find it useful to protect themselves in case they are unable to perform certain Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). I was glad dad manage to live out his final days as a healthy man in this aspect.
